Refund policy
RETURNS & EXCHANGE POLICY
Car seats and certain baby safety devices are considered hygiene and/ safety critical items and therefore cannot be returned once used. Please contact us to discuss car seat compatibility with your car and suitability for your child before purchasing if you are unsure.
It is your responsibility to read all instruction manuals properly while opening the Goods and before assembly of the Goods.
If you, as the consumer, have not had the opportunity to examine the item as it was sent by courier, you have the right to a reasonable opportunity to examine it to ensure it is suitable (section 19 (5)). Please notify us within 48 hours if any items are defective or missing. Change-of-mind returns are subject to store policy (section 1: Definition (c) of Consumer).
According to the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008: S 16, 19 (5) & (8), 20, 55 (3), 56, you as a consumer are entitled to a general right to return for 10 working days after delivery:
- You are entitled to a 10 day cooling off period to cancel or exchange any purchase of any product or service from which they were delivered if it is defective or does not fit your needs.
- A 5% restocking fee will be deducted for returns not due to factory faults, IF packaging is damaged or missing
- The customer shall be liable for the payment gateway fees the bank raise per transaction in the event of the customer returning the goods (if applicable)
- Upon expiry of the “cooling-off” period no purchaser will be entitled to cancel or exchange any purchase.
- No returns or exchanges are possible on discontinued items, clearance items, open box items and display products that are sold online or in-store.
- Goods need to be returned unused, undamaged and in its original packaging with all labels attached, within 10 days of receiving the item. You will be responsible for the return courier fees.

The package must:
- Be undamaged and unused, with the original labels and stickers still attached;
- Have the original packaging, which must be undamaged and in its original condition with all seals still intact (if applicable).
- Not be missing any accessories, parts or manuals;
Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will exchange the item or refund you with the purchase price. Restocking fees and return shipping fees (if applicable) will be deducted off refunds of the product within 10 days of the return.

If Goods have been used, Precious Cargo unfortunately cannot accept the return.
- A refund will be affected to a purchaser exercising his/her right to cancel, within 15 days of cancellation, subject to costs deducted. If you received free shipping, the cost of delivery shipping will be deducted.
- A refund or exchange will only take place when Precious Cargo Child Safety (PTY) LTD receives your parcel subject to the above-mentioned conditions.
- If you fail to comply with the provisions of this Returns Policy, we reserve the right to refuse returns or to charge you our fees and expenses.
- To complete your return or exchange, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
- Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
- There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable).
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error will not be eligible for a refund or replacement.
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If your refund is approved, your refund will be processed to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days (up to 15 days).
Sale items (if applicable)
Sale items will be refunded at the sale amount paid, if approved, after courier costs etc have been deducted.
WARRANTY CLAIMS
Unsafe or defective goods may be returned for a repair, replacement or refund within 6 to 36 months of delivery, depending on the specific product's warranty. Please refer to the specific product page for information about the relevant warranty. Please note that the warranty lies with the local importer, not with Precious Cargo Child Safety (PTY) LTD.
Please notify us via email immediately if your product is defective or damaged. During the warranty period, the supplier may repair or replace the product if it is found by the manufacturer to be defective in material or workmanship. The warranty does not cover the effects of normal wear and tear or damages resulting from negligence, modification, improper installation, accidents, misuse or abuse of the product.
Precious Cargo will assist you by contacting the supplier and logging a warranty claim with the supplier. Factory faults or out of box damages will be assessed via stringent methods and outcomes would be at the supplier's discretion. Once the supplier has received the goods back and has inspected the goods and validated your return, the supplier will repair/replace the goods (if such repair/replacement is possible) or refund you with the purchase price of the Goods within 10 (ten) days of the return.
To ensure that a request is processed as quickly as possible, please:
1. Package the Goods safely and securely for protection during transit;
2. Include the necessary paperwork with the Goods; and
3. Include all accessories and parts that were sold with the Goods.
4. Ensure it is not missing any accessories or parts.
Shipping
Please return the item to us via your own courier or drop it off at our showroom. If you wish to use our couriers to return the item, please contact us for a quote.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If your order qualified for free shipping, the delivery shipping fees will be deducted as well as the return shipping fees.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over R1000, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We can’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
